Strong growth in government and healthcare
itsme® was officially recognised by the Belgian government on 16th January 2018, with the highest level of security.
By activating itsme® on CSAM, the gateway for accessing government services online, it is now possible to log on using a mobile device to a whole range of government services, such as MyPension, Student@Work and MyMinfin. The opening up Tax-on-web on 2nd May has also provided an immediate major boost of 60% more new itsme® accounts in the past month!
“The rapid growth of itsme® for online government applications shows that people appreciate the efforts made by the government to lower the access threshold and also that Belgians are certainly not averse to more digital interaction with the government,” says Alexander De Croo, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Agenda, Telecom and Postal Services.
We have also seen a range of interesting applications in the healthcare sector recently in the broad sense.
For example, the MyHealth platform has been launched federally, while regionally there are the various regional health networks, such as “Brussels Health Network”, “Réseau Santé Wallon” and “Patient Health Viewer” (soon).
itsme® is also becoming a serious player with mutual health funds. For instance, Omnimut
became the first of all the Independent Mutual Health Funds to go live with the launch of its application at the beginning of May.
Thanks to all of these new use cases, itsme® can now boast more than 1 million logins on government websites.
Compared with April 2017, more then 40% more online authentications were registered on government websites today. A clear sign that the further digitalisation of the Belgian society is progressing at a fast pace.
